• Croatia has formally adopted the euro as its currency, becoming the 20th member state of the European Union.

• As the clock struck midnight, Finance Minister Marko Primorac and National Bank Governor Boris Vujicic withdrew the first euro note from a Croatian ATM.

• Amreli, in Gujarat, India, received her first mobile in vitro fertilization (IVF) device on January 01, 2023.
• Union Minister Purushottam Rupala inaugurated the mobile IVF lab. According to the minister, the IVF mobile van was “dedicated to a collaborative effort by the Government of India and Amar Dairy.”
• IVF is a complex sequence of operations used to aid fertility and the conception of a child. It is a sophisticated breeding technique used in cattle to multiply superior female germplasm rapidly.
