Educational Qualification

Graduate Professor (Arts and Sciences)

  • For the Graduate Professor (Arts) position, the candidate must possess a Graduate or Graduate (or its equivalent) from a recognized University and a Bachelor of Arts/Commerce or Graduate of Arts/Commerce with at least 50% grades at graduation. Education (B.Ed.) from Institute(s) recognized by the National Council for Teacher Training.
  • For the position of Graduate Professor (Science), the candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science or Postgraduate in Science, including Graduate or Postgraduate (or its equivalent) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from the National Council of Teacher Training (NCTE) Recognized institute(s).
  • Regarding the secondary TET, the candidate must have obtained 60% points in each test for the UR category and 55% points for the OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H) and PWD categories.

Graduate Teacher (Hindi)

  • Praveen/Ratna with 50% grade in Hindi and Bachelor’s degree with 50% grade OR Postgraduate Arts with 50% grade from any recognized university OR BA with 50% grade and Hindi with 50% grade Postgraduate in Arts with 50% marks in Hindi as one of the subjects or provided you have passed Bachelor’s degree in Hindi as one of the subjects with 50% marks in Hindi.
  • B.T./B.Ed. Degree from any recognized university (Proficient will be treated as a B.Ed. degree).
  • Regarding the secondary TET, the candidate must have obtained 60% points in each test for the UR category and 55% points for the OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H) and PWD categories.

Graduate Professor (Sanskrit)

  • Shastri with 50% mark and undergraduate mark with 50% mark OR Postgraduate in arts with 50% mark from any recognized university OR BA with 50% mark and 50% mark in a subject OR Postgraduate in arts with 50 % rating in Sanskrit as Sanskrit.
  • BT/B.Ed. Degree from any recognized University.
  • Regarding the secondary TET, the candidate must have obtained 60% points in each test for the UR category and 55% points for the OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H) and PWD categories.Off-Campus Title: Government Compliant. Official Letter No. ASE.238/2014/213, Dated. 22.11.2019, Institutions have territorial jurisdiction outside the State of Assam but a study centre in the State. If DEC does not recognize such study centres under UGC, the degree/certificate issued by such off-campus institutions will not be considered valid. For employment under the Department of Education. However, the degree/diploma awarded by distance learning under KKHSOU, IGNOU, IDOL under Gauhati University and Dibrugarh University will be considered valid for employment purposes.

Medium of Instruction

  • In the case of Assamese Middle School, the candidate must have passed the HSLC or an equivalent exam with the Assamese language as one of the subjects or hold an Assamese language diploma issued by Axom Sahitya Sabha or must have studied up to the HSLC level in Assamese Middle School.
  • In the case of Bengali Middle School, the candidate must have passed HSLC or equivalent exam with the Bengali language as one of the subjects OR Bengali language diploma issued by Barak Upalayat Bangya Sahitya or Sanskriti Sammelan or must have studied up to the HSLC level. Bengali Middle School.
  • In the case of a Hindi-language middle school, the candidate must have passed the HSLC or an equivalent exam with the Hindi language as one of the subjects or must have studied up to the HSLC level in a Hindi-language middle school.
  • In the case of Bodo Middle School, the candidate must have passed the HSLC or an equivalent examination with Bodo language as one of the subjects or must have studied up to HSLC level at a Bodo Middle School.
  • In the case of an English Middle School, the candidate must have passed the HSLC exam or equivalent with English as an elective or have studied in an English Middle School from class XI onwards.
